Wing Fighter is a vertical scrolling arcade game, belonging to the fixed shooter genre, that comes directly from the classic and legendary '1942', released by Capcom for recreational machines in 1984. What's more, here, you will find hybrids with another of the most famous games in the recreational world: Space Invaders. So, in this fusion of iconic arcade games, players control a warplane and have to destroy the different enemy formations using hyperdeveloped highly-weaponized technology.
The premise in Wing Fighter is the one you would expect: you are on a war mission and you must destroy the hostile aircraft while collecting and using the money they leave when destroyed to upgrade your weapons. The gameplay is also very simple: the enemies will be both in the air and on the ground with their missiles and turrets. Your goal is to destroy the aerial formations and the tanks on the ground. Every time you kill a squad of enemies, they will leave behind a trail of stars that you need to collect. Every time you finish a wave of attacks, you can add an upgrade to your ship. However, it is important to keep in mind that your ship's health won't regenerate at the start of each level. Instead, you will have to try and hold out as long as you can with the health you have at the start.
You just have to swipe your finger on the screen to move your spaceship. The ship will be continuously shooting automatically, so all you have to worry about is aiming at the enemies while dodging their shots and collecting the boosters for your weapons.
